Home bakers, dessert lovers and sweet tooths unite–The Mochi Queen Of Melbourne is heading to Robata’s Test Kitchen for a brand new Robata Masterclass. Join us for an exclusive masterclass where tradition meets innovation, and the ancient craft of mochi-making is brought to life with modern flair.

Chef Sayaka Otsu will walk you step by step through the process of cooking, rolling and forming the mochi the same way she does it at Robata. She will also provide essential tips on how to easily wrap the mochi and incorporate different flavors and fillings—from the traditional Mochi with Red Bean Paste to more conventional flavours like ice cream or fresh fruit. Learn about the rich cultural heritage surrounding mochi, from it’s historical significance to it’s integral role in Japanese celebrations before rolling up your sleeves as you craft your own exquisite mochi creations to take home. Finish off the afternoon with a delicious 3 course lunch complete with 2 sake pairings.

PRICE: $180 per person for an in-depth Mochi Masterclass, cocktail on arrival accompanied by a 3 course lunch featuring paired sakes.

Due to the nature of this Masterclass, we are unable to cater to dietary requirements. Cancelation no less than 72 hours notice will receive a restaurant credit or the opportunity to reschedule if there is availability. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior will not be refunded/rescheduled.
