BIG FISH - A tuna carving matsuri 

All he needs is a big fish ... and a big knife! 
 
The Bluefin tuna is thought by many to be the real king of the ocean. Living up to 40 years, they can dive deeper than 3,000 feet and migrate across all oceans. If you have ever seen a whole blue fin tuna in the flesh you know just how majestic they are. 
 
And if you haven’t.. Well do we have an event for you! 

Watch as Chef Yosuke Furukawa, with over 15 years of training and a profound love for Bluefin tuna, breaks down the entire fish right before your eyes and transforms it into an array of dishes, prepared and served as the event unfolds.

 

The Big Fish Menu

Sashimi 
Freshly sliced bluefin tuna akami and chutoro sashimi 

 Sushi 
Chutoro tuna nigiri with caviar 
Spicy tuna inside-out roll 

 Mini Kaisen Don 
Sushi rice topped with fresh blue fin tuna, grilled abalone, salmon roe  

 The Main Course 
Bluefin tuna steak grilled over the Robatayaki and served rare,  
edamame and olive salsa 

 Sides 
Hand cut fries, aonori and truffle. 
Fried brussel sprout, goma dare, pickled daikon, bonito 

 Dessert

Inspired by the vibrant spirit of "matsuri" (Japanese festivals) and combined with traditional Japanese performance art, this event showcases the incredible artistry of tuna carving and Japanese culture. 
 
Enjoy an exciting journey from head to tail, with each dish highlighting the tuna's flavours in an unforgettable culinary adventure.

Price: Choose from the following
- $220 for a 5 course menu with matched beverages
- $180 for 5 course menu with matched non-alcoholic beverages
- $140 for 5 course menu menu with arrival cocktail

Cancellation with less than 7 days notice will result in a restaurant credit, cancellation with less than 72 hours notice will not be refunded.
