WHAT IS NIKKEI?
Nikkei means “Japanese ancestry.” It’s a word that encompasses people all around the world who have Japanese heritage but do not live in Japan. This term has been expanded to include the innovative cuisine that results when you merge traditional Peruvian ingredients and Japanese cuisine.
To put it simply... Nikkei is Japanese Peruvian fusion.
Given we are lucky enough to have a Peruvian and Japanese restaurant in our San Telmo Group family we are excited to launch Nikkei Nights. A new and exciting collaboration with Pastuso Peruvian Restaurant on Wednesday August 31st.
Robata Head Chef Stephen Clark and Pastuso Head Chef Samuel Rivas are no strangers to working with each other and couldn’t wait to get started on the menu.
The menu will feature a unique combination of Peruvian flavours like chilli, coriander, fresh fish, rich meats and citrus with the Japanese dishes cooking techniques Robata is so well known for.
The lively atmosphere of both venues will be front and centre as the bold light boxes of Robata’s dining room will be complimented by the bright colours and textures of Pastuso’s Peruvian roots.
It’s truly an event not to be missed. Book your spots now and taste the rainbow!
